Are the tapers the same on the these lines finding the green line a much better casting line than the orange one which i find strange as seeing as the orange line is the one i have seen some great distances cast

Is the newer orange line the same as the old orange MED???? i struggle with the new line

anybody shed some light on this

As far as i am aware they have the same taper.

The orange one just has an extra 15 ft of running line.

Thanks Toby makes it even more of a mystery LOL i will perservere i think the more it used will help as its still retains memory and needs some stretching

When you say 'old' Terry how old do you mean? SA replaced the XXD with the MED about four years ago, it was different to cast and took me a while to adjust to. They are both the same colour so you wouldn't be able to tell them apart unless you get a micrometer out. WCB is right, the green and the orange are the same, only the running line is longer on the orange version.
