I was sorting a few pc problems for my partner's Grandad. Whilst i was there he showed me a fishing rod he had dating back to the Victorian era which i found to be very interesting.

I have no idea of dates for it just that it is Victorian, however i do know it was made by Fosters & Sons and that it has The "A1" written on the butt end, it is a salmon rod at around 15' length and the most interesting bit being that rather then going together like modern rods the sections are spliced and fit together using wire rings to secure them.

I have tried looking online to try and find some information on it or the makers but have not had any look, i wondered if anyone could shed any light.
