A new improved version of the Step By Step list has just been added in place of the old version found in the opening post in this thread. Although the appearance has changed only very little there are some major behind the scenes changes that we hope will make it even easier for our members to find the Step By Step they are looking for.

The major differences...
  • A search box at the bottom of the list which will return real time results as you type - hopefully useful when you are in too much of a hurry to look through the full list to find what you want.

  • An entirely new page to show a contributors list of SBSs - just click on a name to view.

  • The list is now dynamic and database driven which makes it easier for us to keep up to date and reduces the chance of human error with the ordering and counts displayed

We hope that these changes are useful, please let us know if you have any problems or if you simply have some suggestions on how the idea can be developed further...

Following a members request, a mouse over preview has just been added to the Step By Step List - just hover your cursor over the Step by Step name to reveal a preview of the fly - the same feature has been added to the Search results and the members list pages too.

We hope you will all find this a useful addition, please let us know if you have problems or suggestions for further improvements...

Just had a look at the strike indicators. Up this way, the guys tie some yarn around a plastic bodied cotton bud and secure it as you would tying a post for a parachute hackle. Tie off and super glue the thread. Allow to harden then snip the plastic either side of the yarn. Nylon through sleeve and secure with part of toothpick, jaggy bit from a blackthorn or ditto hawthorn. Allows easy adjusting of depth.

I do a similar thing only with a fish pimp. Araldite a couple of fish pimps onto the cotton bud tube and then slice apart when hardened. Secure in the same way, although I carry a little bundle of cocktail sticks in my waistcoat pocket.

With that clobber you'd make an excellent martini waiter at the Elinor social Michael. Call me to arrange if you can attend via stopping at mine. I've decided to finally try strike indicators this year largely on the grounds that it'll annoy BJ as some sort of impure tactic. Twisted Evil

Maybe when BlankDay's current CDC formalities are completed we could have a strike indicator swap? Very Happy
