Just wondering how many Forumites will be attending this Show in 10 days time? I will be attending on Saturday with my fly tying shopping list so it will be good to know who to look out for. Very Happy

More details and a link for tickets can be found here ... https://europeansportfishingshow.com/

It does coincide with a few days off but if I don't go away I shall definitely be there walking round in circles.....I find often a few laps of a shop help, just to really enforce the fact I DO need that bit of kit!

I had an enjoyable day at the Show on Saturday and found most of the fly tying materials I was looking for. Buying synthetics online is usually no problem but you can't beat selecting your own natural materials yourself. Wink I thought the casting demonstrations were also very useful and I picked up a few tips from the fly tiers including a Dutch guy tying pike flies up to a foot long! Shock

The 20% discount voucher for my first ticket next season from the Bristol Water Fisheries stand was also much appreciated. Very Happy

Hope it returns again next year. Smile

I was wondering how it went, so thanks for the report.
The Dutch and the Swedish seem to be leading the field in tying big pike/ streamer flies.
Have you come across this fella on YouTube ? ( I think he is Canadian though)

Actually I found it rather disappointing. I only found half of what I needed on my shopping list. Had a pleasant chat with a few people I know. I shall have to make the trek up to Stafford in February

I must agree with Wylie, & quite a few "names" not there, but had plenty of contacts to catch up with prior to the real deal in Feb.

Though took rather a (to) strong liking to the casting abilities of the Helios 3 apart from the very average cork & ludicrous, blinging white butt"flash"...

I understand some of the views expressed above but I hope the format can be tweaked and it comes back again next year.. I certainly welcome having a Show like this on my doorstep. Smile

Not seen that clip before Peter, but I agree that there is a lot going on across the channel regarding pike flies. Will have a closer look at that and others when i have got a moment. One things for sure, pike flies can involve a lot of often expensive materials so it pays to get them right! Laughing
