Kev

If Colin gives you a sausage roll on the forthcoming Bass social(remember Carl's pasties at T.......?), make sure one end isn't fizzing

If Colin offers you his sausage then rather than checking one end I'd just run Laughing

And what wrong with my sausage.
Sausage could = sausage fly.
Now that might be an idea worth looking in to.
Where did I put those big hooks.

Far too late Colin...been there, done that. Peter is even now working on the carp fly to end all carp flies...it's 100% organic and can be tied by even the beginnest of beginners.

I could tell you more, but I'd have to kill you afterwards...

Leaves are not that good for flytying so that one will have to wait Wink

Seriously, a lot of points have been made here, and even though not everybody agree with everybody(which is the way it should be Wink ), I think that it has been interesting to hear the thoughts on, what I thought, was "just a breadfly".

Whether it`s a fly or not? In my opinion, yes. There`s no "modelling" taking place during the tying, no "real" material involved, AND, it`s tied together, not glued(even though it`s used).

Whether it`s flyfishing using it? Like it`s been mentioned, I think it depends on YOUR look on flyfishing. Some people think it`s only flyfishing when it`s upstream, and the flies below #16. Others will consider a dead herring flyfishing, as long as you can get it out with a flyrod. Personally I don`t think the breadfly poses a "threat" to flyfishing. If the foundation of the sport/passtime/lifestyle was to be ruined, it would`ve been long ago. I consider a breadfly as way to go out, catch a fish, and have fun. Coarsefishing or flyfishing, it could be discussed, and the right answer end up both places, as long as you have a good time doing it, it does`nt really matter to me. The "fun-aspect" should always come first when you`re away from work/girlfriend/wife Wink

Cheers,
Peter

KIERAN... How the devil are you!!!!, ELMER FUDD in that hat if I remember through the alcohol haze!!!.

The Pasties were tasty but something was special about them... did they go for a swim or were they past the sell-by date??..

If Colins Saltwater Sausage sizzles sufficiently it suffices to surmise said sausage shall spontaneously splash seawards saving souls serious suffering.
