Did anyone else read this in the papers yesterday? Rumours that the McCanns are planning a movie about the disappearance of their daughter.
If this is true then it's one of the sickest things I've heard in a while Evil or Very Mad

It came as no real surprise to me, it was only a matter of time in my opinion.

Apparently it's to raise awareness of the case, I thought they had done that already with all the TV interviews etc.

I wonder what will happen to the profits, surely they don't plan on keeping them?

I was watching Richard and Judy last night (just because the tv was on) and the MacCann spokesman said that they were fed up with the media's involvement.

Well blow me down and call me Suzy. The media were the best thing to happen to the McCanns. The story has been kept in the media spotlight for 8 months now and has probably had more column inches than any other story in living memory.

Public sympathy seems to be rapidly declining and the emergence of these stories does nothing to stop the rot.

I'm just waiting for the day that one of them breaks down and admits they had a role in it. I'm sure it's just a matter of time.

I read that Robert Morat was due to be cleared of his suspect status soon.

Apparently it's a documentary and any money will go on the search to find her. Still think that it's all a bit strange, especially as the case is still being investigated. They seem to try and subvert the Portuguese at every opportunity........

My money is on the parents having been involved in some way with the child's disappearance. I have thought for a while now that the net is closing in on the McCanns.

So its not only me who thinks it was them then!

Does anyone realistically think that there is any chance of finding her now, after all this time! Sorry to say it but i'd be very surprised if she's still alive!

I cant believe that the parents would be involved in her disapearence. Why would they if there was an accident then im sure they would have come clean and not disposed of her body.
Now whats more worrying is that a showbiz agent allready has a maddiline lookalike on her books and is touting her for a movie role. Thats sick.

It all seems to suspicious to me! Besides whether they did it or not, they're at least partly responsible for leaving the kids alone and going out for a meal!

Rad,

If I were playing Cluedo my hand would be Dr. Kate McCann in the apartment with the sedatives.

The parents left three children in their apartment every night from around 7:30pm for a couple of hours or more. There were nine adults and seven kids if I recall. Now, how do you get seven kids to all go to sleep at that time?

If that theory is correct think how it would look for a couple of medical professionals to be sedating their children so they could sink a bottle of wine or three with their friends. Can't see the Medical Council looking too favourably at that situation. That's the motive in my opinion.

Not sure what the trust is worth but I know that the trustees are pretty strict about what can be done with the money. So why not make a documentary with the cash to further the cause.

I am not one of those that believes the parents are involved for what it's worth.

I don't see what they can achieve with a documentary. I doubt there are many more than a handful of people in the UK who haven't heard of this story.

A documentary is usually done to draw attention to an issue. The money needs to be spent in other ways. I don't know how, but if the McCanns really want to find their daughter then I know a film isn't the way forward, and I doubt a documentary will show us anything new.

They need to work on clearing their names from this official suspect status, and then perhaps the media can move on?

to assume and/or pre judge can be very damaging. i believe we should stick to "innocent until proven guilty" until we find a better way Neutral

You are right but how else can they spend the money from the trust?

Set up a charity of some sort for parents who experience similar tragedies but who can't afford what they can?
