Probably the most famous and one of the oldest of the Keys style Tarpon Flies. Still enormously popular and productive in the Gulf/Caribbean locations of Belize Cuba The Yucatan and others.



Hooks: Varivas 2600, V 2600ST V, or similar. Size 1 to 1/0 for laid up baby tarpon in the Mangroves. Sizes 1/0 to 4/0 for Ocean Side.
Tail: 2 or 3 Cock Hackles each side of hook tied in deceiver style, with several strands of red and pearl Krystal Flash.
Splitter: Black Bucktail (omitted from smaller sizes
Collar: Red Marabou Blood behind long red cock hackle wound full as a collar.
Head: Built up and tapered black tying thread with silver or chartreuse stick on eyes.
Finish: Tuffleye or Epoxy over all of the head area and eyes for strength.
