|These days,I would rather spend my hard earned cash chasing what IMO are more worthy quarry than bonefish, but having cut my teeth as most do when first venturing to more tropical destinations, on the ghost of the flats, here is one from my box which worked well on those rare occasions when they wouldn't look at the "Charlie" style patterns or little crabs. A very simple tying, the Pink Puff was always a good choice to chuck at really spooky fish, maybe because the chenille head surrounding the eyes, somewhat cushioned the plopping noise associated with the standard beadchain eyed flies.
Good alternatives to the Pink Puff, are the Tan version, differing only inasmuch as it was tied with Tan Chenille rather than Pink, or the Silli Puffs which are tied with the same head and eyes, but the hackle tips and flash are replaced by half a dozen or so strands of black/orange or black/pumpkin silli legs tied in so as the extend about one hook length beyond the bend.
