Anyone got any goals for 2010? I'd like to make both opening days, improve my buzzer fishing, and catch a decent sized brown. It would also be nice to break my Tank 3 duck after two years of trying!! Very Happy

Happy New Year to you all.

My aims for 2010 are definitely to improve my top of the water and dry fly fishing, and also to get greater consistency when I'm boat fishing. This latter one probably involves me trying to understand a bit better what i'm doing (rather than aimlessly thrashing the water!) and how my flies are fishing from the moving boat.

And I do hope to meet up with some of you through the season whether afloat or on the bank.

Me too. I've booked both days off as annual leave. Cool

Not sure what other goals I'd choose. Another double figure pike would be nice and perhaps to try trout fishing from a boat at Chew for a change. Laughing

One opening day for sure, a fish on a dry (emerger) in March.
Apart from that and with luck, a more consistent year after June than last!
Happy new year all.

A few years ago I bought a Touchstone windproof fleece - silly money but has prooved to be a very sound investment. So much easier to wear on those cold windy but dry days.

Alan your pics really highlight how cold it is - I reckon that visibility in the lakes will superb once the ice goes. The freezing temps seem to kill off all the algae leaving the water crystal clear.
