Anyone up for a repeat of last year
Same month August, same campsite .
For those who are interested and didn't attend last year, check out Dam social No 2 to see how good it was and what you missed.
There is some great fishing to be had and at only £5 per day or even free its not going to cost much.
Format pretty much as before, we can skip the sea fishing if you wish though
So get your names down quick, numbers will be limited to the BBQ's capacity.
Dates :
Take your pick from Friday 13th August - Sunday 15th August,...Friday 13th not for the superstitious.
or Friday 20th August - Sunday 22nd August.
There is no problem arriving on the Thursday and staying on until Monday, just let me know.
So get in quick and I'll book the site, which has free fishing a stroll from your tent

Bill, I'd certainly be up for it if I can but will not avail myself of that fantastic BBQ. In fact I shall probably go for a walk before the smell drives me mad!!!! _________________ Roy |

Hi Bill,
Nice to meet you at Elinor I think you've sold me on your Dam get together. This social (and the previous ones) looks to be excellent - please count me in, I think I can do mid August without any problem . Camping within walking distance of some water will again be good fun, although I might need some pointers on the fishing.
Cheers

Hi Bill,
After a long, hard consideration, I'm going to have to decline on this years Dam Social . When we spoke about it at Elinor, you said you could shift the weekend to accommodate me which I really appreciate but I can't commit this year. Perhaps next year. Hope you guys enjoy it.
Cheers

Hi All,
We'll go for the 20th August then.
No problem providing pointers as to how to fish the rivers and what tackle you need.
Chris, its only about 25 minutes to the beach for SWFF.
See you all there then .

A last might well be able to make this social - it doesn't clash with the Anglian Water Welsh final - but only just!. Can't commit yet though as I just don't know what work plans will be like come August - will have to play it by ear...
As for SWFF Aberystwyth is close but probably of more interest would be Borth and Aberdyfi which are well within driving distance and I believe is pretty well known for Bass? - you'd have to do your homework I suppose but I'm pretty certain I've seen pictures of certain SWFFers in that general area on various forums in the past... |

Yes, its a silly question Its in Wales......
More precisely we will be camping at Llangurig, not far from Llanidloes and Llyn Clywedog. There are also some remote upland waters for wild brown trout. Do a google earth to try and find them.
Aberdyfi is better than Aberystwyth for SWFF but you need to be careful on the flooding sands of the estuary.
Bill

Is it possible that somebody could be dragged to their doom here Bill? I think Spinner should be informed so he can do the write up.......

Ah yes Rich,
And if one is lucky on a still evening, they will hear the phantom bells tolling from the sunken village in the estuary, being rung by the spirits mourning the loss of their village.
Chris ,you have been warned. Do not venture onto the sands alone, as you will return a broken man.
Just the place for Spinner to have a holiday
