Hi, I am thinking of trying out Bushyleaze week of 24th January and was hoping for any tips as to how to get the best from my day out. Will be travelling from Bristol if anybody cares to join me? not sure which day yet but weather permitting it will be that week.

The last email i had it was fishing well. The point just to the right of the car park is often good as u can float the flies around on he breeze. The bottom of the lake is always worth a look under the trees. _________________ Rugby - http://s2.excoboard.com/Igloo2

as you drive up to the lake, the 3 grass bank swims immediately on the left when you first see the lake are all good. As you continue round to the car park, the bay on your left is a good bet, too. From the car park, walk to the right and fish the point about 40yds from the clubhouse - the fish come in very close here. next hotspot is right around on the other point directly across from where you are standing - covers a lot of water, but you will need chest waders. A couple of short cast spots through the woods until you exit out onto the far bank. any of the swims on that side between the memorial bench and the hut are worth a look - watch for the fish topping. Then its through the gate and all the swims along to the end will produce - again, watch for movement. The slowest of retrieves using floating line, 15ft leader (5lb) and a goldhead PTN or green damsel will usually do the trick. |
