Hi all,
I am getting a lot of PM's about my medical situation,
It's agood feeling that so many of you are seriously interested in my health.
So, I guess it's time for an update... be it rather briefly Wink
A few months ago I decided to have my high bloodpressure evaluated,
as well as my fast pulse-rate.
After a few tests they found out I have a 75% stenosis of my aortic valve.
It turned out to be a so called bicus-pide valve, a congenital situation,
but non-the-less it can be life-threatening if neglected.
These so called sudden-death sporters have a similar condition.

I have had several tests recently,
ECG, several echoes, even trans-oesophagal,
a heart-catheterisation, bloodtests, and they all lead to the same conclusion;
the valve will have to be replaced.
At the moment my deentals are being cleaned, had 2 teeth removed,
and the gums are being cleaned in a few sessions.
The dentist expects to need about 4 weeks to get all this done,
so the heart-surgery is scheduled in the third or 4th week of September.
Most unlikely that I will be able to attend the Thornton-social this year.... Razz
Should anything new come up I will keep you all posted...

Thanks all for the kind words and good wishes.

Cheers, Hans

This has to be the best excuse ever for not attending Thornton. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Joking aside, I'm sure that we, as a forum, wish Hans all the very best at this time. I for one know that he'll be back stronger than ever for the new season. Cool

Thanks for keeping us up to date Hans.
