|Sometimes it's not what you know...Blagdon three hours morning boat...mirror calm with a few zephyrs....some fish rising between the lodge and North Shore plus in Home Bay. Water now cooler a tad over 18C.
One to WL rig in first half but frustration mounting. Just as I was grabbing the hip flask for a quantum...a local proper angler whispered in my ear. Accurate casting close to the fish and pull away...accuracy and technique more important than pattern. Try a simple black or white lure plus DBs or buzzers...quietly stalk the fish.
Joking right? No...it worked!
Three to the net in next hour and several more released at distance too quickly to count...and then they switched off perhaps until a later shift. So some promising signs of appetites returning and positive hope for the next two or three weeks. We danglers are back in the game! Give it a try.
