Just to further fish tales where on the cast and when do you fish crunchers.Reason is I noted a cruncher on the point in a report and have never condidered a cruncher as a point fly.Always mo' fo'to learn as a charter boat captain would say.My best experience of crunchers has been as a part of a washing line with visibly moving fish.Strip, strip let them sit and they will swim of with it is what one Mr Barr told me and they did Very Happy

I fish it on the point some times when they are in the upper column and I want a slower sink fly on the point ( more dressing).

I have occasionally fished a large #10 Cruncher on the point but have had more success fishing them in #12 or #14 on a 3 fly cast between a Booby or Damsel on the point and a Diawl Bach on the top dropper. Smile

Generally fish them on one of my droppers either washing line style or with a buzzer on the point. The hackle is great for slowing down the flies sink rate, really helps keep the flies out of the weed in the summer.
