I had a visit here this week, I know Tenent has also fished here so instead of another blank at Drift I decided on a small water fishery.
£25 buys a two fish ticket and then up to 12 C&R The main lake is as described as crystal clear, there were a lot of fish splashing around and leaping out of the water.
I may have under estimated the fish with a four pound point but it held up to the fish apart from one zoo creature that took a dry and headed off
The first fish I hooked was in response to a twitch on the greased leader and that also took off and straightened the hook (B170), I then landed a brown or two before it all went quite. It took a while to catch another two fish but after close inspection it became obvious the more residential fish were feeding sub surface while the stockies were roaring around in packs or leaping out of the water.
I caught two browns on a black PTN a Spartak on a subsurface shipman's and another brown on a dry hopper.
A fun day and far from a straight forward so not a "chuck it and chance it" lake.
A video should follow this.

Nice report Peter - get rid of your B170's - I thought I had but one slipped through the net and was on my top dropper at F2 the other day and opened up losing me a few fish and missing some hook ups. Hanak or Fulling Mill barbless for me. |

Hi Pete
Hope you had a good time down here.
John has certainly improved tree meadow this year, with more fish going in, and now different vareitys brown brook spartic tiger blue rainbows.
I' fished it few months ago first time in couple of years. |

Meadow Farm was fun, when I got there and saw fish all over the place I thought it might be a tad easy but it proved to be far more of a challenge.
As in the video the more established fish seemed to be feeding sub surface or occasional dry.
I am not sure about dumping all my flies tied on the B170
We are down in Cornwall again in September, Drift or Tree Meadow 🤔 _________________ Floating Lines, buzzers, nymphs, stick floats, maggots and throwing lures at bitey things.
