Well this weekend will be my first SWFF trip of the year and I'm still after my first saltwater fish on the fly!
Any hints or tips? This is the forum trip up to Scotland if that helps!

Chris

You must think positive Chris...go outside, sit naked and cross legged in the garden, and chant to yourself " I will not blank". You must repeat this exactly one hundred times whilst facing due East..turn and face due North and repeat...turn and face due South and repeat...turn and face due West and repeat.

By this time you will have appeased the Goddess of SWFF, and good fortune will surely follow you.

Either that, or the neighbours will have called the police and you'll be in a secure mental unit....

It's the others I feel sorry for, the bok has had all winter to lie dormant and will surface soon I fear.

Chris

Try small pink clousers on an intermediate or ideally a sink tip line

Retrieve the fly in short strips, pausing frequently. If it is very cold the fish will be torpid.

Good fortune will be heavily influenced by whether the outflow is on.

You take care, thats a dangerous spot in the best conditions !

Kieran

I go in all weathers but I am actually rather glad that something got in the way of this trip

Thanks Kieran,
I have a box of pink flies at the ready.

I have a new Tibor reel that just arrived to try out too, surely that will catch me a fish by itself?!

Hope to get some pictures to put up of the weekend Smile

Chris

Dry and mild?!
I'm leaving at 2.30 tomorrow morning in the hope that I'll get past Newcastle before 7 and miss the traffic going over the bridge.
If the weather on the drive up is poor then it'll be a bad omen and I'll just turn around and come back from Newcastle Very Happy

I hope these caravans are warm!
