Impact Libra 10’ 7 weight Fly Rod.
By Paul Evans.
I bought this model after having borrowed one from a friend for a day earlier this
year. Not being caught up in the ever increasing trend for the latest and greatest
kit from the well known established brands I had a completely open mind and had no
idea what to expect from the rod but to say that by the end of the day I was very
impressed is an understatement -
The rod is very well finished and has a very good quality reel seat to match, so
good in fact I would not have expected to find it on a rod in this price range. For
me though it was the performance that stood out right from the beginning -
If you are looking for a big brand name rod or the perceived notoriety that apparently comes along with owning such am item then you'll be better off spending vast amounts of money on something else. If however, you want a real workhorse of a fishing rod that will in my view compare very favourably and in many cases exceed the performance of vastly more expensive rods then this is the one for you.
The extra tip section with each rod is a very good idea which I'm hoping will end the need to carry a whole spare rod around with me wherever I go. Considering such a rod section will cost you upwards of £30 + hassle to replace with most other manufacturers it's an added bonus to have a spare section all already to go should the unthinkable happen.
To my mind this rod simply represents great value for money, I'm one very happy customer but I think in the next few months I'll be just one of many that will hold these rods in very high regard
The rod costs just £99 complete with matching cordura tube and spare tip and is available from;
